T-Mobile Launches BlackBerry 9300 Curve 3G Phones

T-Mobile is getting ready to sell the upcoming BlackBerry 9300 Curve 3G phone.

The new entry-level BlackBerry will feature a 2 megapixel camera, WiFi connections via 802.11b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 as well as a slot for microSD cards of up to 32GB. The Curve will be the first BlackBerry 3G phone and will be available in two configurations – one for AT&T and one for T-Mobile.

T-Mobile is staying tight lipped about exactly when the BlackBerry 9300 Curve 3G will be available but has promised it’ll be in the “coming weeks”.

3G Phones That Whoop The iPhone 4′s Ass

The iPhone 4 may be hogging the headlines but there are still plenty of great 3G phones worth buying if you’d rather stay away from the Apple fanboy flock. Here’s a round up of the best mobile phones.

Verizon Wireless 3G Phones
Among the best Verizon phone deals is the HTC Incredible – with a 3.7-inch, 800×480 touchscreen and 8GB of internal memory. It also has one up on the iPhone 4 in that it has an FM radio – a pretty standard feature these days that the iPhone lacks. Add to that the HTC Incredible 8 megapixel camera and you’ve got a pretty cool mobile phone.

T-Mobile 3G Phones
Probably the T-Mobile phone grabbing most attention at the moment is the myTouch 3G Slide. Among the features that make it more interesting than the iPhone 4: Voice Control, social network updates from favorite contacts and mobile phone themes that update based on location or time. Being an 3G Android phone it also has access to over 50,000 apps in the Android Market.

Sprint 3G Phones
The HTC EVO is a 4G phone meaning Sprint can beat the iPhone 4 in one important way – speed. It’s the only one of the 3G phones on this list than can also be used on a 4G phone network – giving real life speeds of around three times that of a normal 3G phone network, something that the iPhone 4 is unlikely to offer for at least a year.

Which 3G Phones Can Use T-Mobile’s HSPA+ Network?

Even though T-Mobile continues to expand its new faster 3G phone network to more and more cities across the USA – currently 25 – many mobile phone users don’t realize that the upgrade will only be noticeable on certain types of high end 3G smartphones.

The list of the 3G phones equipped to take advantage of the new faster 3G speeds includes the HTC’s MyTouch, MyTouch Slide and G1, the Motorola Cliq and the Google Nexus One.

T-Mobile also sells the WebConnect Rocket USB data card allowing computers, laptops and other devices to connect to the new faster T-Mobile 3G network.

Faster T-Mobile 3G Phone Network

T-Mobile has upgraded its network coverage for 3G phones bringing faster downloads in Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, Dallas, Pittsburgh and New Orleans and 20 other cities across the US.

T-Mobile is racing to get its new faster 3G network running and established in as many coverage areas as possible before Sprint – and other mobile carriers – get there with new 4G phone networks. The company is able to improve its phone network faster than Sprint because the 3G upgrade is a much simpler process.

Even though Sprint’s 4G service is technically better than the 3G HSPA+ service that T-Mobile is rolling out, many phone user report that T-Mobile is actually the faster of the two.

Sprint Motorola i1 Release Date Confirmed

According to a number of rumors floating around the mobile industry it looks almost certain that Sprint will launch the Motorola i1 3G phone in its stores on June 20.

A post by popular mobile phone site Boy Genius Reports claims that although the Motorola i1 will be launched on June 20, it won’t actually be available to buy until July 11.

It also looks likely Sprint will also launch another of its 3G phones – the Samsung Intercept M910 – on the same day.

Fring Video Calling for 3G Android Phones

Good news for Fring users on Android 3G phones – Fring now lets you make video phone calls. The most recent software update adds the feature, which has been available to iPhone and Symbian S60 users for a while.

Video calling via VOIP on mobile phones – whether using Fring, Skype or other VOIP software – is still in early stages, so it doesn’t always work flawlessly.

In general, VOIP services work better through a 3G phone connection, rather than mobile phones hooked up to WiFi connections and with smartphones with higher end CPUs.

BlackBerry Bold 9650 3G Smartphone

BlackBerry is extending its popular Bold series of 3G phones with a new offering – the BlackBerry Bold 9650. The new phone will be available on Sprint 3G with a version for possibly coming to Verizon Wireless later.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is somewhat like the BlackBerry Tour. It’s similar in size but comes with a new WiFi module, 512 MB of on phone memory and a new trackpad instead of a trackball. The new mobile supports up to 10 email addresses, has built in GPS and a 3.2 megapixel camera.

There’s also access to BlackBerry App World, the Sprint Music Store, NASCAR, Sprint TV and Sprint Football Live.

myTouch 3g phone for T-Mobile

T-Mobile is making an effort to woo the 3G phones market with its latest offering the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide phone.

Goodies included with the myTouch 3G include a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash for taking mobile photos and uploading or sending directly by email, MMS, Facebook or your other social networks. The myTouch is an Android 3G phone with support for 3G and WiFi. Among the nice touches is that it comes out of the box with a generous 8GB microSD memory card. It that’s not large enough for you it can be swapped for a larger capacity card.

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide is available in a choice of black, white or red.
